Update 11th February 2020
Many Councillors and residents attended the meeting in Yatton on Thursday 6th and Natural England were very accepting of the strength of views. A compromise solution for this section – along the seawall usually but behind the sea wall at high tide – was the subject of much discussion and is being put forward.
Thanks to all who attended and I will report news about more southerly sections of the route when I get it.
Steve Dixon, Parish Clerk, 11th February 2020
Following the many representations that Natural England received from Parishioners last year, they have been working through their due process and the sections of the route that were OBJECTED to (e.g. by landowners) have been referred to the Planning Inspectorate.
Many who made a REPRESENTATION have been contacted where they referred to Section 017 – the stretch of 650 metres south from where you reach the coast having used the route from Channel View Farm. All of the sections SOUTH of this stretch are, I’m told, the subject of objections so we cannot yet be certain that the route taken through s018 – s041 will remain as originally published.
Those who made a representation about s017 (I’m told that was some 50 people) have been invited to a meeting in Yatton on Thursday 6th February. This includes your Parish and District Councillors. The meeting is intended to gather views about this specific section only.
