Roadworks – North End, Yatton
The construction of sewers into the new Eaton Park development will cause the complete closure of the B3133 at North End, Yatton starting on Monday 6th September
The work will be completed in 3 phases:
Phase 1 – Starting on Monday 6th September, there will be a complete Road Closure for one week – possibly two (for contingency). This will be for the full 24 hours a day for the whole period whilst the road is excavated to lay the new sewers.
The formally signed Diversion will be from Clevedon and from Congresbury via Tickenham, Wraxall, Cambridge Batch, Backwell and Brockley and it is hoped by NSC that this will keep traffic away from the critical area. There will be extensive signage in Clevedon and at Congresbury to dissuade drivers from trying to find a shorter route – including “Road Ahead Closed” signs at both ends.
Looking at where the closure will actually be in North End, it looks like Kingston residents will be able to use (Yatton’s) Ham Lane and Moor Lane to bypass the closure.
Needless to say, others will know (or find …..or be told by Google maps!) this route so allow extra time for your journey in the Yatton direction if you wish to try this.
Phase 2 – Starting on Monday 20th September there will be temporary 2 way traffic lights to allow work on one side of the road to continue. These will be in place for 3 weeks. Allow extra time!
Phase 3 – Starting on Monday 11th October NSC contractors will be along to resurface the entire stretch. These works will be completed under a night time road closure between the hours of 8pm – 6am.
Those are the plans as they stand today – 26th August. I will post up any changes that I’m notified of.
