Update – 20th December 2019
Residents have been disrupted by the digging works and traffic lights on the Lampley Road but these have now been removed for the Christmas period. The repair to the road surface where the cables have been laid is a temporary one and will be redone in the New Year. Truespeed and their contractors are obliged to restore the highway to a proper condition and that includes repainting the newly done “SLOW” markings in due course.
Chairman of the Parish Council, Mike Sewell and I are setting up a meeting with Truespeed for immediately after the New Year so that we can discuss their installation plans for the remainder of the village. I currently understand that much of the cabling to the rest of the village will be achieved by attaching the broadband cables to the existing mains power poles. When we know the detail, we will share them here.

Update – 7th December 2019
Work has begun in Kingston Seymour to install the fibre optic network for the Truespeed superfast broadband.
This is likely to cause a small amount of local disruption as cables are routed both under and over ground and this work is scheduled to be complete around the end of February. I understand that there will be a control cabinet installed on the verge on the village side of the motorway bridge.
After the network is installed, I understand that it will be fully tested before households are advised of their connection dates.

Initial Post 15th November 2019
I understand that Truespeed will be undertaking their project to install superfast broadband in the village!
The initial plan is to cover the following areas:
– Lampley Road all the way from Kingston Bridge to the Triangle.
– Back Lane as far as the two compounds west of Pear Tree Farm.
– Middle Lane as far as Plantations (includes all the buildings there).
– Ham Lane all the way to Broadstone Lane and as far as the junction with Middle Lane.
– Yew Tree Lane as far as and including Yew Tree Farm
The Company tell me that they consider this to be the start and that they will look to reach other areas as part of a future project once this phase is completed.
Survey work for the cable routing will commence shortly
